Submission Criteria

Submissions may be entered by students enrolled in a philosophy program at a post-secondary institution in Canada.

Group 1: General Submissions

This category is for students enrolled in a philosophy program at an accredited post-secondary institution. This category is primarily aimed at undergraduate students pursuing a major or minor concentration in Philosophy. As such, philosophy undergraduate students are encouraged to submit their scholarship for review. In addition, graduate students may also enter their philosophical works. It is strongly recommended that students review the submission guidelines prior to submitting their documents.

Group 2: Access Category

This category is subject to the same requirements as the general submissions category, however, the access category endeavours to highlight scholarship from authors who identify as belonging to minority and equity-seeking groups, such as: women, BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+, and/or people with a disability.

Group 3: Socratic Category

This category is for learners who have not had the opportunity to formally study at a post-secondary institution. Alternatively, this category is designed for individuals who have cultivated philosophical knowledge throughout their life experience. According to Socrates, the study of philosophy comes from engaging with interlocutors over the course of our lives. Authors from outside Canada are also able to submit their work for consideration via the Socratic Category.
